HP (high-performance) dual-pane glass packages combine one or two Low-E coatings with argon gas fill and warm-edge spacer options, providing a high-performing insulating glass unit.
HPMAX glass packages have a triple-pane insulating glass unit that creates two separate air spaces for optimal insulation. This helps maintain a home’s interior temperature and lower energy costs.
The warm-edge glass spacer system separates glass panes and seals in gases in the insulating glass unit. Its U-shaped design interrupts the natural temperature flow for increased energy efficiency and comfort. The strong design also flexes with glass expansion and contraction to ensure a strong seal for the life of the window or door. The non-metallic foam Super Spacer® is non-conductive and virtually eliminates temperature transfer and seal failure.
Argon gas is sealed between the glass panes in the insulating glass unit. It is 40% denser than air, improving its insulating properties and energy performance. Argon is also nontoxic and poses no health or environmental risks.
Select Ply Gem windows are available with R-Core insulation (pre-expanded, high-density solid polyurethane), the same type of foam used in many refrigerator and freezer doors. It is placed in the window’s frame cavities for superior thermal efficiency and interior comfort.
