What is the Difference Between Bay & Bow Windows

Although bay and bow windows have many similarities, there are a few key differences to consider when selecting the best fit for your home.

Bay windows feature three windows installed at an angle, extending beyond the exterior wall of your home. The center window is often fixed and is wider than the other two which are generally operable. Bow windows feature four or more side by side windows that curve outward from your home.

Bow windows typically require more space than bay windows. Bay windows fit best in areas with at least 40 inches of space. Alternatively, bow windows are ideal for locations offering 80 inches of space or more.

Bow windows feature a gentle, curved configuration. Bay windows, on the other hand, offer a more angular design, projecting further outward from your home. Although bow windows offer a wider span and larger viewing area, bay windows create more interior space with their angular design.

Aluminum-Clad Wood Bay or Bow Windows

Aluminum-clad bay and bow windows offer the classic appeal of wood with the strength and durability of an aluminum-clad exterior. The low-maintenance aluminum exterior offers structural integrity that protects the wood from damage.

Enjoy superior design flexibility with a broad selection of exterior colors and the freedom to stain or paint the wood interior.
